The first edition of the International Soldering and Brazing Conference under the entitled "Progress in soldering and brazing technologies" took place in 2004. The originator of this Conference and other monothematic Conferences organized in Wrocław was
Dr. Hubert Drzeniek, a former employee of the Welding Works of the Wrocław University of Technology, head of the Euromat Sp. z o.o.
in Wroclaw. From the beginning, the chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference was an outstanding scholar of
Prof. Władysław Karol Włosinski, multi honoris causa doctor, chairman of the 4th Department of Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS), a real member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, former vice-rector of the Warsaw University of Technology.
The Conference has been very popular with participants from Poland and abroad from the beginning. In the last, fifth edition of the Conference, in 2016, about 170 participants from around the world took part, and the Conference was accompanied by exhibitions of
17 national and foreign companies related to the subject of soldering ang brazing. In each edition of the Conference, over 30 papers were delivered, and the Conferences were accompanied by poster sessions. The Conference papers are published in the renowned Welding Technology Reviev magazine, which has a rich tradition, appearing over 90 years, from 1928. The International Soldering Conference is organized, in a 3-year cycle, by the Welding Team of the Mechanical Faculty of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
